She was born in Ankara in 1971. She attended Dokuz Eylul University, Faculty of Medicine between 1989-1995. She had her residency in Ege University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Histology and Embryology between 1999-2002. She worked at University of Helsinki Haartman Institute in 2000. After being declared Assistant Professor of Ege University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Histology and Embryology in 2004, she was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2007 and Professor in 2013. In 2008 and 2014 respectively, she worked at the Harvard University Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in creating a cancer treatment model using Cancer Stem Cell and the siRNA technology. In 2014, she completed her “Doctorate” Degree at Ege University Health Sciences Institute, Stem Cell Department. After completing her doctorate degree, she was awarded the title of Head of Department in Stem Cell Department and still holds office there. She is conducting research on issues such as Stem Cell, Cancer Stem Cell, Developmental Biology, Regenerative Medicine, Monoclonal Antibody technologies. She has many published articles and book chapters on these issues. In addition to membership to several scientific institutions, she is a board member and a referee in scientific journals. She is married and has a daughter.
